Eric MacDonald, 78

Eric makes it to a live Toronto Maple Leafs game with grandson Mathew!

Eric MacDonald is 78 years young. He is the father of 4, and grandfather to 4 grandchildren. Eric has been a devoted fan to the Maple Leafs organization since childhood – he can rhyme off many, if not all, facts and scores from over the years. Eric spends a lot of his time at The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and, from what we’ve heard, he always arrives with questions for them about scores or plays from that week’s games. Being a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Eric has always dreamed of attending a game live in their home arena, never thinking he would have the opportunity to do so. Despite being visually impaired, Eric wanted nothing more than to experience being in the stands, listening to the game, and taking in the excitement of the crowd alongside his grandson. Not only did Eric get to fulfill his lifelong wish to attend a Toronto Maple Leafs game but our friends at eSight provided Eric with a pair of life changing glasses that allowed him to see the game and create many more memories alongside his family for years to come. A wish that has, quite literally, changed the quality of Eric’s life forever.

Quoted from Eric’s daughter “There are no words to express what this trip and experience has meant to Dad and our family. Dad has such a spring in his step that we have not seen in years. We are forever grateful.”
