Linda Mulock, 70
Meet Linda, 70 years young! In the heart of Ontario, Linda’s life story unfolds in a manner that is marked by resilience, sacrifice, and an enduring love for the arts. From the tender age of 8, she peeled potatoes in her family’s fish and chips shop and toiled on a Quebec farm during the summers. Linda faced great adversity early on in life, losing her spouse at 38, but she emerged as a pillar of strength, raising her son as a single parent and conquering breast cancer over two decades ago. Throughout her journey, Linda seized the opportunity to once again help those around her and created “Ribbons of Faith,” which she sold to help raise over $250,000 to help those battling breast cancer.
Despite her extraordinary journey, Linda’s dreams often took a backseat to her selflessness. A wish to witness a Broadway play in New York City remained quietly tucked away, a desire she rarely shared, not wanting pity for unfulfilled dreams. Now, because of our incredible community, Linda’s unspoken yearning came to life and she was able to receive the full Broadway experience that led her to the main stage of Wicked where she graced the stage alongside their cast. Linda’s eyes filled with tears, not of sorrow, but of overwhelming gratitude, as the spotlight finally turned to illuminate a woman whose selfless endeavours have made her a beacon of inspiration in her community and beyond.
A huge thank you to Marc Goldberg Photography and the Wicked cast who went above and beyond to help bring Linda’s wish to life.
