care packages were distributed to seniors in Nova Scotia!
At the height of the pandemic, we had to slow down our typical wish granting activities in order to keep our seniors and community safe. However, we knew we couldn’t let this limit our impact, so we chose to deliver care packages to seniors who were isolated and lonely across our Nova Scotia as a result of the pandemic. These care packages were designed to safely provide seniors with social and recreational engagement opportunities while reinforcing sentiments of care, appreciation, and social connectedness.
This innovative approach that we took during the COVID-19 pandemic is an example of a “small act of kindness” that others can adopt and carry out for a senior in their life. As a result of this campaign, we delivered nearly 4,000 care packages overall, and generated countless testimonials that indicated the package had a profound impact on seniors mental wellbeing. Although our “Little Wishes” have taken on new shapes, we feel it’s important to continue to sharing the story of how our “Little Wishes” turned into more than we ever thought possible.
