Celebrating 10 Years of We Are Young
On May 13, 2026, We Are Young marked a major milestone with A Decade of Dreams, a special evening held at Steele Wheels Motor Museum in Halifax. The cocktail reception brought together past wish recipients, their families, supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and friends of the organization to celebrate ten years of creating meaningful moments for seniors across our communities.
The evening was filled with connection, reflection, and gratitude, as guests gathered to honor the stories that have shaped the past decade. From life-changing wishes to moments of joy, confidence, reconnection, and adventure, the celebration highlighted the ripple effect that kindness and community support can create.
More than a milestone event, the evening reflected what has always been at the heart of We Are Young: ensuring seniors feel seen, valued, and celebrated. It was a reminder that these moments are made possible through a shared belief in the importance of dignity, joy, and belonging at every stage of life.
Guests enjoyed a cocktail-style reception with light hors d’oeuvres, graciously hosted in the unique setting of Steele Wheels Motor Museum, and catered by Certainly Cinnamon Catering. The event also served as a moment of appreciation for the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners who have supported the mission over the past ten years, including The Berkeley Retirement Residences and Vitality.
As we reflect on the evening, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey. Ten years is a meaningful milestone, but it is only the beginning of what is still to come.
